So it’s finally the big day to head down to your polling station and exercise your democratic right! Will this election be as people predicted when it was first announced, or will things not be quite as they seemed? As the polls begin to come out and we start to get a general idea of the votes, we’ll discuss and maybe even predict what we think will happen. Storm Doris caused devastation across the country on Thursday night. Wheelie bins were overturned, Car alarms were set off and trees fell. However, we awoke on Friday morning to clearer skies and the prospect of a calmer day. The same could not be said for the political storm that was brewing following the results of the Stoke and Copeland by-election results.
Last week, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson took to the despatch box to condemn violent atrocities taking place in Syria, stating that purposely attacking a hospital constituted war crimes, questioning the whereabouts of the Stop the war Coalition, and suggesting Russian actions in the area should be investigated and protested against.
